Abi Abdullah
Legal Research Intern
Abi Abdullah is an LLB student at the Faculty of Law, Universitas Islam Indonesia (UII), with a strong interest in international law, comparative law, human rights, and legal research. His academic journey has taken him beyond Indonesia through two exchange programmes: one at the National University of Malaysia (UKM) and another at Ostfalia University of Applied Sciences in Germany. These experiences have shaped his comparative outlook on legal systems and international affairs, exposing him to different academic traditions and cultural perspectives.
His research interests centre on Southeast Asian politics, regional affairs, and contemporary human rights issues, with particular attention to how law, governance, and political developments intersect with human rights protection across the region.
Abi's practical experience spans both academic and field-based research. He served as a Researcher for the 2024 Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition and currently works as an Undergraduate Research Assistant at the Faculty of Law, UII. He has also contributed to human rights work internationally as a Volunteer Research Assistant Intern at the Bangladesh Legal Aid and Services Trust (BLAST).
Outside academics, he has been active with UII Global, EDS UII, HIPMI PT UII, and HMI , involvements that have shaped his interests in leadership, debating, entrepreneurship, and community engagement.
Abi is now beginning his journey with the Bangladesh Society of International Law (BSIL), where he looks forward to contributing to its research activities in international law, regional affairs, and human rights, while learning alongside fellow researchers and practitioners.
