Garvit Shrivastava

Research Assistant

BA.LLB. (Hons.) Candidate, Jindal Global Law School

Garvit Shrivastava is a final year BA.LLB. (Hons.) student at Jindal Global Law School. His academic work centres on critical perspectives within international law, including Third World Approaches to International Law, feminist and indigenous legal theory, and decolonial thought. Currently, his work focuses on international economic law, environmental justice, development, and the politics of legal knowledge. His work has appeared on platforms including Völkerrechtsblog, the Oxford Human Rights Hub, and NALSAR's Law and Other Things, and he has also contributed to academic journal.

Alongside his research, Garvit approaches international law as a contested space of learning that must be continually questioned and rethought. This interest in pedagogy has led him to take on teaching assistant and research roles where he engaged with pedagogy to make international law more reflective, critical, and dialogic in classrooms.

Garvit also serves as the Editor in Chief of the Jindal Forum for International and Economic Laws, where he curates spaces for interdisciplinary conversations on international law through conferences, symposia, and student discussion circles. His editorial initiatives have focused on opening alternative entry points into international law through art, emotion, everyday life, and other non-mainstream modes of engagement.
