Lecture Series – 02: Enforced Disappearance in Bangladesh: States’ Obligation and Victims’ Rights

To commemorate the International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, the Bangladesh Society of International Law (BSIL) hosted a lecture titled "Enforced Disappearance in Bangladesh: States’ Obligations and Victims’ Rights" on 30 August 2025, Saturday.

We were truly honoured to have Professor Dr. Saira Rahman Khan, School of Law, BRAC University, as our speaker for this event.

This lecture provided a comprehensive analysis of Bangladesh's legal and institutional frameworks addressing enforced disappearances. It emphasised the state's obligations to prevent such occurrences and ensure accountability. Additionally, the discussion highlighted the rights of victims to seek truth, justice, and reparations, situating Bangladesh's experience within a broader context.

The event was moderated by Mr. Fahim Abrar Abid, Founder, BSIL.

We are grateful for the active and enthusiastic participation of our audience. Please stay tuned for our upcoming lecture, which will be announced soon.
